James H. Woods Union carpenter ?was outdoorsman
James H. Woods, 72, of Eighty Four, died Saturday, September 29, 2012, in Washington Hospital, with his family by his side.
He was born June 30, 1940, in Canonsburg, a son of Howard G. and Emma Embert Woods.
Mr. Woods was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Houston.
He had worked as a union carpenter with Local 84 of California for 37 years, retiring in 2001.
Mr. Woods was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed guns, reloading, hunting and fishing.
On June 14, 1969, he married Norma Jean Lauderbaugh, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Connie L. Bright and husband Kenneth of Bentleyville, Timothy J. Woods and wife Meccala of Charleroi and Angela R. Woods of Washington; four grandchildren, Caitlin and Kaden Woods and Domenic and Damian Bright; and a great-granddaughter, Mia Grayce Woods.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, with the Rev. Willie Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in care of McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., in the name of James Woods.
