Katherine V. Pastovich, 80, of Canonsburg, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Washington Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

Known by many as “Kush,” she was born March 4, 1933, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late William and Viola Modlinski Laskowski.

Mrs. Pastovich lived most of her life in Canonsburg, where she was a 50-year member of Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church. It was fitting that she went to be with Jesus on Easter Sunday morning.

She loved all animals, reading and doing crossword and wordsearch puzzles. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Steelers, Pirates and golf on television.

A graduate of Trinity High School and Penn Commercial, she held many positions during her lifetime. She had worked at Canonsburg Pottery Co. for 25 years, RCA plant in Meadow Lands and, prior to her retirement, she had been employed in the dietary department of The Greenery in Canonsburg.

On June 7, 1958, she married Gordon L. Pastovich, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Cindy Pastovich of Canonsburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pastovich was the last of her immediate family.

She leaves behind her “almost grandchildren,” Nicholas, her loving cat, and Mason, her black Labrador granddog.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are four brothers, Edward, Albert, Herman and Theodore Laskowski; and six sisters, Eleanor and Elizabeth Todderdale, Dorothy and Florence Laskowski, Gertrude Rogers and Dolores “Babe” Cienoski.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating.
