Hazel Marie Tuttle O’Donnell
Hazel Marie Tuttle O’Donnell, 93, a lifelong resident of Cross Creek Village, passed away Thursday evening, April 4, 2013, after a brief illness, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
She was born March 22, 1920, and recently celebrated her 93rd birthday with pizza and cake with her family members.
A graduate of Hickory High School, Mrs. O’Donnell was a very active member of Cross Creek United Presbyterian Church and served in nearly all capacities of Cross Creek Cemetery for most of her adult life. She was also active within Cross Creek Township, serving as an auditor and on the election board. She was a member of Cross Creek Village Grange and Rebekah Lodge of Burgettstown.
Mrs. O’Donnell enjoyed traveling with her husband and organizing bus trips.
Her husband of 64 years, James E. O’Donnell, preceded her in death December 7, 2003.
Surviving are children, James B. “O.D.” O’Donnell and wife Kim of Burgettstown and Linda O’Donnell Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; three granddaughters, Kelli O’Donnell Alvarez and husband Bob of Langeloth, Jamie O’Donnell of Burgettstown and Tiffany Taylor Himmelreich and husband Eric of Westerville, Ohio; two great-granddaughters, Alyssa Alvarez of Langeloth and Taylor Himmelreich of Westerville; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are her parents, Brice Blair and Mae White Tuttle; a son, who died in infancy; a daughter-in-law, Sheran O’Donnell; a son-in-law, Frank Taylor; and a brother, Lawrence “Bud” Tuttle.
Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, in Cross Creek United Presbyterian Church, Burgettstown. Everyone is kindly asked to go directly to the church Monday morning. Interment will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery.
