Wallace A. McConnell

Wallace A. McConnell, 89, of Hendersonville, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, in Consulate Health Care of North Strabane.

He was born September 20, 1923, in Bridgeville, a son of the late Roy and Beulah McConnell.

Mr. McConnell had been employed as a crane support operator for Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp.

He was a member of Fawcett United Methodist Church.

On April 29, 1944, he married Mabel Campbell, who passed away April 5, 2006.

Surviving are a son, Everett (Karen) McConnell of Detroit, Mich.; two daughters, Cornelia Wetherholt of Detroit and Phyllis (Alex) Stankowski of Hendersonville; a brother, Clark McConnell of the state of California; a niece, Donna (Frank) Zuzek of Cecil; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several other nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are a sister, Phyllis McConnell and six brothers, Ira, Thomas, Roy, Harvey, Allan and Jay McConnell.

Friends are welcome from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 8. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
