Frances B. “Francie” Kosem, 96, of Midway, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
She was born April 28, 1916, in Strabane, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances Tomsic Batista.
Mrs. Kosem was a cook at Burgettstown High School.
She was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Bulger and a member of SNPJ Lodge 89 in Midway.
Mrs. Kosem enjoyed crocheting.
Surviving are daughter Karen (John) Tasz of Midway; grandchildren John TM (Jill) Tasz of Burgettstown and Mark Tasz of Carnegie; great-grandchildren Ashley, Matthew and Luke Tasz, all of Burgettstown; sister Sally Holsey of Nevada; and brothers Vince Batista of Ohio and Richard Batista of Canonsburg.
Deceased are her husband, Frank L. Kosem, who died in 1984; brother Frank Batista; infant daughter Frances; and sister Mildred Podboy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway 724-796-3301. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, in St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Bulger. Interment will be held in Center Cemetery, Midway. Charles L. “Chuck” Wilson, 84, of Washington, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.

Gary L. “Zip” Zimmerman, 56, of Waynesburg, died at 2:27 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Waynesburg.
