Larry D. Putnak, 71, of Monongahela, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born June 20, 1941, in Monongahela, he was a son of the late James and Elizabeth Appolonia Putnak.
Mr. Putnak retired in 1999 from U.S. Steel’s Clairton Works, where he worked as a electrical field supervisor / manager.
He was a 1959 graduate of Monongahela High School and a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish (Transfiguration Church) in Monongahela.
Mr. Putnak was a member of 4H and enjoyed hunting and fishing. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time restoring older John Deere farm tractors and raising livestock with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Linda (Miller) Putnak, whom he married November 5, 1962; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey R. and Lisa Putnak of Eighty Four; a daughter and son-in-law, Lauren E. and Mark Bosanac of Valley Inn; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah M. and Chuck Zaugg and Helen Jean and Joseph Kish, all of Bethel Park; three grandchildren, Lindsey and Krista Bosanac and Eric Putnak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, James and Joseph Putnak.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com. Funeral prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 15, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Transfiguration Church, Monongahela, with Father William Terza as celebrant. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
