Joan B. Burrows
Joan B. Burrows, 79, of Washington, died Saturday, April 13, 2012, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born April 16, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William G. and Grace Adams Burkett.
Mrs. Burrows was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School and a 1956 graduate of Penn State University.
She was a member of Christian Bible Fellowship Church in Canonsburg.
Mrs. Burrows loved theology and Bible study.
On August 14 1955, she married William A. Burrows Jr., who died December 27, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Dave Burrows (Kathy) and Mark Burrows (Melissa), both of Washington; two daughters, Elisabeth Wheatley (John) of Claysville and Deborah Graham (William) of Carlisle, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Christian Bible Fellowship Church, Canonsburg, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, with the Rev. Andrew Cobucci officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Arrangements have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Christian Bible Fellowship Church.
