Carolyn D. Campbell

Carolyn D. Campbell, 97, of Washington, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, in her home in Southminster Place, Washington.

She was born November 13, 1915, in Lebanon, Ind., a daughter of the late Roscoe and Olive Smith DuVall.

Mrs. Campbell was a 1933 graduate of Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Ky., and a 1937 graduate of the University of Indiana in Bloomington.

She was a teacher in the Fort Knox, Ky., and Coral Gables, Fla., school systems.

Mrs. Campbell was a member of First Presbyterian Church 1793 in Washington, where she was its oldest living member. She was active in the Washington Hospital Auxiliary, Washington and Jefferson Auxiliary and volunteered at the Brownson House.

On August 22, 1942, in Ft. Riley, Manhattan, Kan., she married John M. Campbell, who died February 18, 1979.

Surviving are a son, William M. (Carolyn) Campbell of Washington; a daughter, Margaret D. Campbell of Washington; three grandchildren, Amy (Frederick) Reeping, Megan (Dr. Scott) Leslie and Michael (Lauren) Campbell; six great-grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Will, Alex, Emily and Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by her family and loving caregivers.

Deceased is a brother, John DuVall.
