Mary Pendeville, 99, of Bulger, died Monday, April 15, 2013, in the home of her daughter.
She was born December 20, 1913, in Bulger, a daughter of the late Guiseppe and Assunta Merloni Sandri.
When she was a young lady, she worked in her aunt’s store, Merloni’s Grocery Store in Bulger, She retired to be a wife and mother.
Mrs. Pendeville was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Bulger and its ladies auxiliary.
She enjoyed baseball, making homemade bread, noodles, and crocheting. She especially enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Peggy (James) Held of Bulger; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Pendeville of Burgettstown; five grandchildren, Rebecca (Edward) Smith, Mark (Marla) Pendeville, Pamela (Michael) Waltz, Michele (Patrick) Scuro and Molly Held; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew, Megan and Erin Smith, Ryan and Elizabeth Pendeville, Abigail and Luke Waltz and Gianna and Tessa Scuro.
On August 15, 1936, she married Francis A. Pendeville, who died February 9, 1996.
Also deceased are a son, Joseph Pendeville; a granddaughter, Monica Lynn Held; and three brothers, Bruno, Deno and Attillo Sandri.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, in St. Ann’s Church, Bulger, with the Rev. Bob Staszewski, as celebrant.
