William F. Pape Sr., 81, of Washington, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in his home.
He was born October 12, 1931, in Imperial, a son of the late Henry and Ann Hughes Pape.
Mr. Pape was a coal miner, having worked for 84 Mining Co. for 29 years, retiring in July 1994.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
On July 31, 1951, he married Eleanor Gudac, who died January 28, 2006.
Surviving are four sons, William Pape Jr. and Dave Pape, both of Canonsburg, John Pape (Marilyn) of Washington and Rob Pape (Roberta) of Marianna; two daughters, Joann Pape of Lawrence and Barb McGinnis (Ron) of Washington; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers; and a sister.
Deceased are two brothers and two sisters.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, with Pastor Ruth Simmons officiating.
