Jean G. James, 89, of Washington, formerly of Churchill, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Strabane Woods, South Strabane Township.
She was born July 21, 1923, in Ebensburg, a daughter of the late D. Sherman and Mary Owens Griffith.
Mrs. James was a graduate of Ebensburg High School and received a master’s degree from Allegheny College, where she was a pre-med student.
On October 18, 1947, she married B. Franklin James, who died April 8, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters, Megin J. Harrington of Scenery Hill and Ann J. Jones of Spartansburg, S.C.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a nephew.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a sister, Carolyn Corbin and son-in-law, Gordon Harrington.
At the request of the deceased, all funeral arrangements were private and under the direction of John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville.
