Loved her grandson, pets, flowers and gardening
Mary B. Pomykala, 90, of Washington, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, in Evergreen Personal Care Home, Washington.
She was born August 8, 1922, in Washington, a daughter of the late George and Anna Repka Antol.
Mrs. Pomykala attended Trinity schools.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pomykala loved her grandson, enjoyed flowers, gardening and loved her pets.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church, Meadow Lands, as well as the First Catholic Slovak Ladies’ Association.
On November 21, 1953, in Washington, she married Henry “Herky” Pomykala, who died August 2, 2000.
Surviving are a daughter, Amy Kovats and husband Michael, and a grandson, Michael H. Kovats.
Deceased are a son, Henry “Bud” Pomykala; a daughter, Linda Pomykala; four brothers, John, Steve, Pete and Joe Antol; and four sisters, Anna Mazzi, Margaret Antol, Katherine Mersky and Helen Orlosky.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Pike Street, Meadow Lands, with the Rev. Carmen D’Amico as celebrant. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
