Virginia Ann “Dinny Ann” Brunner Robertson, 81, of Harmon Creek, Burgettstown, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born April 22, 1932, in Langeloth, a daughter of the late John Jacob and Violet Riley Brunner.
A 1950 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she was a member of Burgettstown Presbyterian Church and the Junior Women’s Club of Burgettstown.
Mrs. Robertson delivered Meals on Wheels with her daughter, Janet, and enjoyed spending the winters with her husband in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where they were avid bicyclists. They also enjoyed their cabin in Elk County.
She enjoyed her many family vacations to Geneva on the Lake and Myrtle Beach with her sister, “Re-Re,” and her sister-in-law, Frances Brunner. She also enjoyed having her nails done every other week with one of her dearest friends, Pauline Meneely.
Her husband, William Allan Robertson, whom she married August 17, 1954, in Langeloth Presbyterian Church, preceded her in death May 2, 2009.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Huthmacher and husband Keith of Mt. Lebanon and Janet Sabo and husband Daniel of Burgettstown; six grandchildren, with whom she loved spending time, Caitlin and Jessica Robertson, Jacob and Kathryn Huthmacher and Jonathan and Jared Sabo; a sister, Alice Marie “Re-Re” Carnali of Burgettstown; daughters-in-law Lisa Robertson and Jennifer Robertson, both of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two children, William W. Robertson and Susan A. Robertson; three brothers William “Giz” Brunner, John L. “Jackie” Brunner and Dickie Brunner, who died in infancy; and a sister, Geraldine “Duddie” Darras.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, with the Rev. Dan Ekas officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Grandview Cemetery, Florence. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
