First UP Church member, Meals on Wheels volunteer

Helen A. Giosta, 93, formerly of Houston, died Friday, August 9, 2013, in Lebanon Valley Home, Annville, where she had resided for the last several years.

She was born January 12, 1920, in Eighty Four, a daughter of David and Martha Nevergold Wilson.

Mrs. Giosta was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Houston, where she was a member of the Ruth Circle and a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

On May 23, 1953, she married Frank Giosta, who passed away November 30, 2006.

Surviving are three children, Daniel Giosta of Washington, D.C., Larry Giosta (Cathy) of Grove City, Ohio, and Marlene Hinkle (Jim) of Lebanon; a granddaughter, Chelsea Miele; a great-granddaughter, Eden Miele; a sister, Martha Wylie of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sisters and five brothers.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, August 15, in First United Presbyterian Church, Houston, where services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Clarejean Haury officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. Condolences may be left by viewing the obituary at www.mcilvaine-speakman.com.
