Marie E. Baker, 96, of Clarksville, died Sunday, August 18, 2013, in Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown. Funeral services will be held at a time to be announced Wednesday, August 21.

Alan J. Berry, 30, of Waynesburg, died Friday, August 16, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., following a traffic accident.

Colleen Ruth Fisher Boyd, 68, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013, in her home, with her loving family by her side.

Graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Joseph R. Duvall, 61, of Pittsburgh, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 15, 2013, in his home.

He was born January 4, 1952, in Waynesburg, a son of Jane Durbin Duvall of Waynesburg and the late Melvin R. Duvall.

Mr. Duvall graduated from Waynesburg Central High School and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1974, where he studied business management and participated in Army ROTC.

He worked in the wholesale grocery business for Blackwell and Stevenson Co. of Bridgeville. He also worked for Acme stores.

Mr. Duvall resided most of his life in Pittsburgh and was a member of First Christian Church of Waynesburg.

He enjoyed helping others. His many interests included writing poetry and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and loved him. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, Jane Duvall of Waynesburg, are sister Charlene Duvall Kendall (Bill) of Spanish Fork, Utah; two nephews, Daniel and Michael Duvall; and two great-nieces and four great-nephews.

Deceased is brother Larry Edward Duvall.

Clarion Co. CYS director, therapist was outdoorsman

Allen Blaine Gardner, 73, of Indiana, formerly of Hill Station, died Saturday, August 17, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born June 12, 1940, in Hill Station, a son of the late Albert and Alma Valet Gardner.

Mr. Gardner graduated from Cecil High School in 1958. He received his bachelor of arts from Clarion University and was awarded a full scholarship from the University of Pennsylvania for his master’s in social work degree.

For the 45 years that he worked as a licensed clinical social worker, he was employed as a private therapist and worked for mental health, home health and drug and alcohol agencies. He was director of Children and Youth Services in Clarion County. Throughout the years, he continually sought additional education to benefit his clients and was considered an excellent therapist.

Mr. Gardner enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, horseback riding, reading, cooking, gardening and time spent with family.

Surviving are his wife, Jobie Radle Gardner of Indiana; three daughters, Jeanne (Walter) Clark of Penn Run, Gretchen (Richard) Cochran of Knox and Melanie (Wade) Mott-Clingerman of Southview; five grandchildren, Zachary and Kevin Clark, Rebecca and Matthew Cochran and Michael Mott; sister Virginia “Jeanne” Fickes of Holidaysburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are brother Sidney Gardner and two sisters, Alma Brooks and Olive Shaffer.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, where services will be held at 8 p.m. with Pastor Jim O’Brien officiating.

Samuel G. Lipari, 60, of Eighty Four, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 18, 2013, in his home.

Eighty Four homemaker focused on family

Margaret J. “Peggy” Mohney, 75, of Eighty Four, died Sunday, August 18, 2013, in her home.

She was born July 20, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Wesley and Eleanor Anderson Schmeltz.

Mrs. Mohney was a homemaker and also had been employed as a driver for Matthews Bus Co. in Eighty Four.

She was a member of Meadow Lands United Methodist Church in Chartiers Township.

Mrs. Mohney enjoyed making shawls for the residents of Donnell House in Washington.

Her family was the center of her life and she loved them dearly.

Surviving are her husband, Jerald “Jerry” Mohney; son Jerald “Jerry” Mohney Jr. and wife Cathy of Washington; two daughters, Christi Barney and husband Ernest and Karen Perchinsky, both of Eighty Four; brother Wesley Schmeltz of Finleyville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21. Internment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. 1934-2013

Betty Lou Moore, 78, of Holbrook, Jackson Township, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, after being seriously ill for the past year.

She was born November 26, 1934, in Center Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late John B. and Temperance Ellen Cowen Kirby Gaines. She had resided in Jackson Township most of her adult life.

Mrs. Moore formerly attended New Freeport Church of Christ.

She was an employee of the former Greenway Manufacturing plant in Waynesburg and a former volunteer with the Jackson Township food bank.

On October 30, 1954, she married Robert Lloyd Moore, who died June 27, 1969. She was a 16-year companion of Ronald “Buck” Riggs, who died November 19, 1998.

Surviving are two daughters, Rosa Lee Moore of Waynesburg and Dixie Berdine of Sparta, Wis.; two sons, Roger L. Moore, with whom she shared a home, and Ronald L., husband of Diane Moore of Morgantown, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, husband and companion, are six sisters, Doris Hull, Genevieve Richter, Ruby Cunningham, Sadie Wright, Geraldine Smitley and Creta Weaver; and three brothers, James Kirby, Archie and Robert Gaines.

Beloved mother and grandmother

Elizabeth “Libby” Rohulich, 85, of Bobtown, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.

Born February 20, 1928, in Point Marion, she was a daughter of the late James and Florence Clemmens Sullivan.

A beloved mother and grandmother, she was a 1945 graduate of Point Marion High School.

She retired from the packing department of Houze Glass Corp. in Point Marion. She previously worked as a clerk for Hills Department Store.

Surviving are four children, Charles Rohulich Jr. and George N. Rohulich, both of Bobtown, John J. Rohulich of Cambridge, Ohio, and Carol Yankura and husband John of Rices Landing; five grandchildren, Heather and Tammy, Aaron and John Rohulich Jr. and Carol Jean (Yankura) Howard of Charlotte, N.C.; and eight great-grandchildren.

Deceased are her husband, Charles Rohulich Sr., on August 21, 1993; brother Hoffa Sullivan; and sister Helen Moody.

Veteran loved time with family, hunting

Ronald H. Simpson, 61, of Washington, died Friday, August 16, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born August 5, 1952, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Howard L. and Ann Mancina Simpson.

Mr. Simpson was a 1970 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family, and enjoyed hunting with his beagles and coonhound.

Mr. Simpson was a member of Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.

On April 14, 1973, he married Priscilla “Sissy” Bell in St. Patrick’s Church, Canonsburg. Mrs. Simpson survives.

Also surviving are son Nathan Simpson of Washington; daughter Jessica R. Simpson of Washington; sister Kimberly A. (David) Rhome of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Anna Harden, Olivia Simpson and Shayla and Dakota Wilkinson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, with the Rev. 1931-2013

Clyde A. Weber, 81, of Scenery Hill, died Saturday morning, August 17, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.

He was born December 17, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a son of William L. Weber Sr. and Anna Price Weber.

Mr. Weber attended St. Henry’s and St. Michael’s schools and graduated from Carnegie Tech, all in Pittsburgh.

A chemist, Mr. Weber worked for Valspar Corp. in Pittsburgh, where he was in charge of developing ultraviolet curing.

He was a member of Memory Chapel in Vanceville and was the former president of American Boxwood Society.

On April 26, 1998, in Memory Chapel, he married Betty L. Thompson, who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Lisa Noll (Jeffrey) of Simpsonville, S.C., and Michael Weber (Laura) of Scenery Hill; four grandchildren, Jacob and Rachel Noll and Hunter and Colton Weber; sister Laverne Moreno (Ed) of Pittsburgh; brothers William Weber Jr. (Jane) of Maryland and Ronald Weber (Charlotte) of Pittsburgh; stepsons Curtis, Kenneth and Scott Thompson; several stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Deceased are his first wife, Janet R. Weber; sister Carol Brown (the late Edward); and stepson Kevin Thompson.
