Vietnam veteran

Jerry E. “Captain Lou” Anderson, 63, of Westland, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born January 12, 1950, a son of Elizabeth Mae Weber Anderson of Bulger and the late Robert Charles Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army 101st airborne division, and was a retired aide at Western Center. He was a member of Vietnam Motorcycle Club, Westland Sportsman Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, SNPJ and Palanka Club.

Surviving are his wife, Linda L. Harbison Anderson; children Jerry (Shelly) Anderson of McDonald, Brian Guta, Kelly Guta-Dixon and Chad Guta; siblings Kerry (Robert Phillips) Daskalakis of Florida, Mary (Randy Shoup) Gilbert of McKees Rocks; grandchildren Teagen and Caden Anderson, Britanee, Damen, Sean, Andre, Pete, Alisha and Chelsea; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Deceased are brother Larry Anderson and granddaughter Erica.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 23. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. Friends may sign a guest book at thomas-littlefuneralservice.com.
