Edward Moskal
Bricklayer who enjoyed golfing, bowling
Edward Moskal, 93 3/4, of Meadow Lands, died Friday, August 23, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born October 27, 1919, in Mathers, a son of Michael and Mary Ann Kubic Moskal.
Mr. Moskal was a member of Meadow Lands United Methodist Church.
He spent 17 years as a coal miner, but most of his working career was as a union bricklayer.
Mr. Moskal was a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 9 in Pittsburgh and the Bears Club of Meadow Lands.
He was an avid golfer and had become quite good. He holds the course record at the former Eighty Four Golf Course. He also enjoyed bowling and for many years was a member of the Merchants Bowling League.
On December 25, 1952, he married Mary Ellen Frame, who died March 22, 2001.
Surviving are three sons, James E. Moskal (Diana) of Georgetown, Texas, Robert J. Moskal (Debbie) of Houston and David P. Moskal (Claudia) of Burgettstown; nine grandchildren, Todd, Christopher, Brian, Jason (Jess), Scott, Kaleena, Brianna and Luke Moskal and Melissa Wojcuich (Adam); five great-grandchildren, Evan, Aspin, Bailey and Kiley Moskal and Liam Wojcuich; and a sister, Dorothy Sacco of Meadow Lands.
Deceased are five brothers, John, Theodore, Thomas, Adam and Stanley Moskal and five sisters, Marie Moskal, Helen Blasinsky, Genevieve Macanga, Pauline Kusky and Francis Rasefske.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 26, with the Rev. Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
