Proud “Nana” was homemaker

Caryl E. Duvuvei, 72, of Rostraver Township, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013, in Manor Care, Green Tree.

She was born September 2, 1940, a daughter of the late Charles and Grace Timblin.

Mrs. Duvuvei was a graduate of Avalon High School.

She worked as a secretary for the state of Pennsylvania before becoming a homemaker.

Surviving are Robert Duvuvei Sr. of Weedville; a daughter, Tammy (Jook) George of Midway; a brother, Charles (Elizabeth) Timblin of Ross Township; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Duvuvei was a proud “Nana” to grandchildren William and Kayla George, with whom she loved spending time. She always attended her grandson’s football games and enjoyed playing games with her granddaughter.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her and whose lives she touched over the years.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, in Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, 412-221-3333. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery, Midway.

John Albert Kestner, 66, of Washington, died Monday, August 26, 2013.

Arrangements are incomplete and have been entrusted to Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc.

Cynthia Dianne Cook Maley of Windsor, Va., died July 17, 2013.

She was born January 29, 1960, a daughter of Ronald and the late Alma Sue Cook.

Her husband of 30 years, Pete Maley, survives.

Owner of Glenn Auto Parts

Claudia J. Flowers Ross, 69, of Glenshaw, died Sunday, August 25, 2013.

She was the beloved wife of Daniel F. Ross; mother of the late Kimberly J. Ross and Daniel A. Ross; sister-in-law of Linda Beatty and Rosa Vamosi; and daughter of the late Ed and Jean Flowers.

Mrs. Ross was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School and Penn Commercial Secretarial School.

She was the owner of Glenn Auto Parts and administrative secretary of SAE International.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bock Funeral Home Ltd., 1500 Mount Royal Boulevard, Glenshaw. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 29, in Memorial Park Presbyterian Church, Allison Park. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.

1935-2013

John Bonkie Sadvary, 77, of Columbus, Ohio, died Friday, August 23, 2013, in his home.

He was born November 12, 1935, a son of the late Andrew and Mary Fedorcek Sadvary.

In January of 1963, he married Emma Stillam, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Sue Ward (Jeff) and son George Stillam (Ellen), both of Columbus, and sister Mary Check of Maryland.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Prosperity homemaker, active church member, volunteer

Twila C. Stewart, 85, of Prosperity, died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2013, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, following a brief illness.

She was born Sunday, January 22, 1928, in Ligonier, a daughter of the late Nathan Crowe and Elizabeth Rhoades Crowe.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of Fairall United Methodist Church and was, at the time of her death, attending Whiteley Creek Community Church in Waynesburg. She was a treasurer for Fairall United Methodist Sunday School for more than 20 years, and loved volunteering for the American Cancer Society for several years.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Thomas C. Stewart, whom she married August 23, 1948, died September 17, 2008.

Surviving are two daughters, Joyce M. and Edward DeWitte of Waynesburg and Judy E. and Larry Greenwood of Inverness, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jody Lynne and Casey Craig, Brian Lee Pierce and Kimberly Ann and David Gloetzner; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Payton and Austin Thomas Gloetzner and Conner and Amelia Craig; and a special niece, Sheri and James Proie of Pittsburgh.

Deceased are sister Elizabeth Clifford and three brothers, Howard, Frank and William Crowe.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 30, with the Rev. Joseph Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Fairall Cemetery, Whiteley Township, Greene County. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Fairall United Methodist Church, 583 White Barn Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370; or to Whiteley Creek Community Church, P.O.
