Wesleyan Mine coal miner enjoyed family time

Donald W. Lank, 64, of Washington, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013, in his home, after a brief illness.

He was born July 18, 1949, in Washington, a son of the late Herman L. and Betty Stewart Lank.

Mr. Lank was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church in Washington.

He was employed as a coal miner for Wesleyan Mine for many years.

Mr. Lank was a graduate of Washington High School and Penn Commercial.

He was a certified locksmith, coached baseball for Washington Youth Baseball for more than 30 years, loved old cars and was an avid sports fan. He leaves behind his dogs, Sunny and Calvin, and his cats, Peaches and Tiger, who will miss him a lot.

Mr. Lank was a loving man who enjoyed his family time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by not only his family but by his many friends who loved him.

He was formerly married to Donna Kiskadden, who survives. Also surviving are his children, son Mike Lank (Becky Ankrom) of Washington; three daughters, Stacey (Kevin) Ritz of Georgia, Dawn Marie Saunders (Tyrell Davis) of North Carolina and Shanon Lank (Ray Burgess) of Pittsburgh; sister Debbie Lank of Florida; 14 grandchildren, Mary “Nikki” Mundell, Michael Lank, Grace Lank, Wraygan Lank, Brandon Lank, Brittany “Rose” Orum, Nathan Orum, Shalisa Saunders, Tori Saunders, Darius Saunders, Brook Lynn Lank, Kendall Lank Brown, Journey Lank and Isiah Jack; two great-grandchildren, Jaylnn Holland and Bentley Orum; aunt Norma Poland of Washington; dear friend Norma Package of Ligonier; along with several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is his twin brother, David Lank.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 31, in the funeral home, with the Rev. David Price officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Wesleyan Methodist Church in Washington, Washington Youth Baseball or Washington Area Humane Society, P.O.
