Lived a life of many endeavors

Gilda Beverly Metz Wennin passed away Friday, August 23, 2013, surrounded by her family, after bravely dealing with cancer. The memory of her beauty, grace and love could never be dimmed by any disease.

Surviving are her loving husband, Paul; children Randy, Linda, Cindy and Kevin; grandchildren Jarod, Randy, Phillip, Lawrence and Savannah; great-grandchildren Ryder, Shelby, Lily, Jake and Rose; sisters Gloria Hoppe and Dorothy Jackson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wennin lived a life of many endeavors, a shining light of her time. She was a mother to many with the deepest of love that extended to all those around her. All could feel her warmth and uncommon strength. Like a lighthouse, her beauty has drawn people around her to see the sights and her beacon guided the way for their enhancement. Never turning from what is right, she stood as so few could for so many. She now joins her parents, Addie and Owen, and her two brothers, Gene and John.

Visitation was Tuesday in J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville, N.Y. A funeral was held Wednesday, August, 28, in the funeral home, with Pastor Stan Scoville presiding. Burial was in Genesee Cemetery.

Mrs. Wennin was a mom, grandma, great-grandma, wife and friend who will be forever loved and missed but never forgotten. May she live on in the hearts of her family and her wisdom carry on in generations to come. Heaven now has a grand lady and a firecracker.

The family suggests memorial donations to Fountain of Life Church, 2101 Old National Pike, Washington, PA 15301, 724-239-2974. To leave condolences, please visit www.embserfuneralhome.com.
