Kind, generous person

Stella M. Solak, 90, of Richeyville, died Saturday, November 30, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 14, 1923, in Mammoth, a daughter of the late Alexander and Sophia Dirda Glemza.

Mrs. Solak was a seamstress for over 30 years. She retired as a supervisor for Brownsville Sportswear, where she retired in 1985.

She was a member of the historic Church of St. Peters, Brownsville.

Mrs. Solak enjoyed dogs, specifically her chocolate Poodle, Buddy. She enjoyed bowling, polka dancing, cooking, baking and sitting on her front porch in the summer among her flowers. A very kind and generous person, she always put her family first and above herself. She enjoyed faithfully praying the Rosary.

She married John “Stoney” Solak, who preceded her in death February 2, 1979.

Surviving are a daughter, Lorraine Kelley (Michael E.) of Centerville; a granddaughter, Michelle Celaschi (Del) of Deemston; three grandson, Michael J. “Buddy” (Kelley) of Centerville, Michael Anthony Celaschi (Lauren) and Del Michael Celaschi; a sister, Sophie Oswald of California; and two brothers, Frank Glenzu of Los Angeles, Calif., and Nick Glemza of Cox’s Creek, Ky.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are four brothers, Mike, Anthony, George and Pete Glemza.

Friends will be received from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the historic Church of St. Peters, Brownsville with the Rev. Joseph Armameto as celebrant.
