Margaret A. Havanas, 90, of Clarksville, died Sunday, December 1, 2013, in Juniper Village at Forest Hills.
She was born January 5, 1923, in Fredericktown, a daughter of the late Samuel Hugh and Sarah Maxwell Adamson.
Mrs. Havanas was a 1940 graduate of East Beth High School.
Retiring in 1969, she worked for Southwest Pennsylvania Water Authority for many years.
For 65 years, she was a member of Green Valley Church of God in Carmichaels. She was past president of Mary Martha Joy Fellowship and the Joyful Christian Fellowship and was an Adult Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years.
She enjoyed biking, walking, German shepherds and solitaire. She loved her family, reading the Bible and was generous in supporting ministries.
On May 18, 1946, she married Henry W. “Bill” Havanas, who died May 11, 2002.
Surviving are a son, William Hugh Havanas (Hope) of Patasaka, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jennifer Catullo, Deborah Catullo, Rebecca Cade and Jeremy Havanas; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Michailides of Grafton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Margie Farrier; two brothers, Daniel and Harry Adamson; and two sisters, Anabel Adamson and Beulah Jean Orlandi.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 5, with the Rev.
