Served in Army Air Forces during World War II

Frank J. Csuhta Sr., 93, of Sturgeon, died Thursday, December 5, 2013, in McMurray Hills Manor.

He was born July 29, 1920, in Buffington, a son of the late Mike and Elizabeth Orris Csuhta.

Mr. Csuhta was a 1940 graduate of South Fayette High School.

He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II.

Mr. Csuhta worked as an assembler with Homestead Industries for more than 20 years, before his retirement.

He was a former scoutmaster and cubmaster in Sturgeon and a life member of Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department.

On June 1, 1942, he married Victorine M. Dams, who died August 30, 2012.

Surviving are four daughters, Frances J. Mussomeli of Penn Run, Carolyn L. (Felix) Manzini of Lawrence, Kathy J. (Bernie) Swigunski of Cecil and Debra L. (Bill) McGivern of McDonald; a son, Frank J. (Kathy) Csuhta of Imperial; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased are 10 brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 9, with the Rev. Ben Vaghetto, pastor of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
