Deborah Jean Barkhurst Shedlock

Deborah Jean Barkhurst Shedlock, 54, of Burgettstown, Hanover Township, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013, in Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center, after a brief illness.

She was born November 21, 1959, a daughter of the late Donald and Shirley Smith Barkhurst.

A graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she had an 18-year career as a manager for Walmart working within several stores.

Mrs. Shedlock enjoyed caring for and riding her horses and crafting, especially stamping and scrapbooking. Most important to her was spending time with her family.

On November 23, 1983, she married George S. Shedlock, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her three children, Damian Richard Williamson and wife Leah Marie of Ohio, Dawn Louise Williamson and husband Matthew James of Maryland and George Paul Shedlock and fiancé Kiernan Montrey of Ohio; six grandchildren, Connor Reid, Parker James and Sylvia Darlene Williamson, Benjamin Arthur and Elijah Thomas Williamson and Cory Montrey; a brother, Donald Paul Barkhurst and wife Grace of Hanover Township; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 12, with the Rev. Joyce Morra officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
