Loving mother, grandmother

Jacquelyn Jo “Jackie” Mosier Smith, 76, of Washington, died unexpectedly Friday, December 6, 2013.

She was born August 15, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of the late Paul Wayne Mosier and Bonnie Isabelle Dutton Mosier.

Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Trinity High School, Class of 1955.

She worked at The Meadows in track photography sales, Club Forty as a cook, state police as a teletypist and in admissions for Washington & Jefferson College.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed canning, gardening, socializing with friends and taking bus trips. She was very active in the Washington County Fair and Trinity Band Parent Organization and was a Girl Scout and 4-H leader.

She was a member of North Buffalo Church, Moose Lodge, Lagonda Homemakers Club, a Parkinson’s disease group and Washington Socialites.

Mrs. Smith was a loving mother and grandmother and wonderful friend to many. She loved her pets.

On June 27, 1964, she married Robert Bradford Smith, who died November 6, 2009.

Surviving are three daughters, Bonnie (Benjamin) Rankin of Chelmsford, Mass., Tracy (Michael) Tush of Washington and Rebecca (Joseph) Kolter of Washington; and three grandchildren, Laura Rankin, Alex Tush and Jason (Erin) Kolter.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 12, in North Buffalo Church, 711 Rural Valley Road, Washington, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will be private and at a later date.
