Member of Mary, Mother of the Church
Virginia A. Martinet Kurilla, 71, of Carroll Township, passed away peacefully Monday, December 16, 2013, in Mon Valley Care Center.
She was born November 4, 1942, in Monessen, a daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Hako Martinet.
Mrs. Kurilla worked for many years at the former Miller’s Department Store in Charleroi and in the deli department at the Fisher Heights Giant Eagle.
She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church and Mon Valley Serra Club.
Mrs. Kurilla enjoyed taking trips to the casino and playing video games.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Donald Kurilla; sons John “J.D.” Kurilla and Matt Kurilla; daughter Beth Derocco and fiancé Shawn Wagner; brothers John Martinet and David Martinet and wife Carmen; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes and Cremation Services Inc., 825 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 19, in Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi, with co-celebrants the Rev. Gerald A. Mikonis and the Rev. Walter Rydzon.
