Owned several horses at The Meadows

Beloved mother and friend, Sondra Marie Weimer, 69, passed away on November 20, 2013, in Halifax Memorial Hospital, Daytona Beach, Fla., with her family at her side.

She was born October 27, 1944, in Lansing, Mich., daughter of Nick Kent and Winneford Burns.

On February 24, 1962, she married the love of her life, Kenneth C. Weimer, and together raised their two children, Ken and Lorrie in Prosperity.

Mr. and Mrs. Weimer celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage.

For more than 30 years, she and her family owned and cared for several horses that raced at The Meadows.

She enjoyed fishing, taking trips, the beach and spending time with her family.

They moved to Florida in 2009 to enjoy their many hobbies.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Ken Weimer and wife Tami; a daughter, Lorrie Eddy and husband Dennis; four grandchildren, Page Weimer, and Natalie, David and Montana Emrock; and a great-grandson, Braden Bedillion.

Also surviving are a sister, Melina Pattison; a brother, Tommy Horton; and two nieces; and three nephews.

The family is planning to celebrate her life at a date to be determined.
