John F. Duda Sr., 67, of Coal Center, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in North Charleroi December 3, 1946, a son of Margaret A. Marconyak Duda, who survives and resides in Rostraver Township and the late Chester A. Duda Sr.
Mr. Duda worked for Operating Engineers Local 66 and was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church in Charleroi. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hating the world. His biggest interest was his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Linda I. McCall Duda; four children, Charlotte Duda of Coal Center, John F. (Rebecca) Duda Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Rachel (Mark) Abel of Fallowfield Township and Matthew A. (Nicole) Duda of Pittsburgh; and five grandchildren, Cecilia Duda, Sophia Duda, Lillian Duda, Caroline Abel and Noah Mast; three brothers, Chester A. Duda Jr. of Rostraver, Joseph J. Duda of Mt. Morris and Michael J. Duda of Rostraver; and three sisters, Julie (Robert) Malena of Rostraver, Margaret (Robert) Scharback of Long Island, N.Y. and Cathy (Borhan) Karimi of Virginia.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com. Family and friends are asked to meet in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, December 21, for parting prayers, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church, 624 Washington Avenue, Charleroi, with the Rev. Gerald Mikonis as celebrant.
