Navy vet, St. Nicholas Church member
Rosalie Schrader Nonack, 89, of Fallowfield Township, Charleroi, died Saturday morning, December 21, 2013, in her home.
She was born March 18, 1924, in Webster Springs, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jonas Hurley and Jessie Lee Coberly Schrader.
Mrs. Nonack was a graduate and class valedictorian of Bentleyville High School.
A veteran, she served as a specialist with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Donora and American Legion Post 165 in Bentleyville.
Surviving are her husband, Steve N. Nonack Jr.; four children, Steffie Smith (Larry) of Fallowfield Township, Linda Puskarich (Terry) of Cokeburg, Mary Ann Lobodinsky (Francis) of Somerset Township and Paul Nonack (Vickie) of Fallowfield Township; five grandchildren, Terry Puskarich, Kyra Sloan, Jason Nonack, Lysa Lukachyk and William Lobodinsky; four great-grandchildren, Macksim and McKenna Rose Nonack and Wyland Lukachyk and Jackson Sloan; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nonack was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased are siblings Byron Schrader, Billie Fawcett, Maxine Crumrine, Helen McCaffrey and Janice Lytle.
Friends are welcome from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, with the Very Rev. Igor Soroka officiating. Interment will follow in Charleroi Cemetery, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 165. A Parastas will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
