Enjoyed traveling, volunteer work

Anna Louise Jurovcik Bosdosh, 80, of Ellsworth, died Saturday, December 21, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born February 6, 1933, in Van Voorhis, a daughter of the late Joseph and Stephanie Martinko Jurovcik.

A homemaker, Mrs. Bosdosh was a 1951 graduate of Monongahela High School.

She was a member of Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville, and Women’s Guild and Rosary Society of the church.

Mrs. Bosdosh enjoyed traveling, volunteer work and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

On December 27, 1952, she married Charles T. Bosdosh, who died August 26, 2012. They celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Surviving are four daughters, Annette Bozovich (Bob) of Bentleyville, Monica Grubbs of Washington, Charlene Bozovich (Brad) of Bentleyville and Lori Roberts (Randy) of Eighty Four; nine grandchildren, Bryan, Barrett and Robert Bozovich, Jeffrey and Jamie Grubbs, Carly and Matthew Bozovich and Amy and Michael Roberts; four great-grandchildren, Deborah, Mallory, Grant and Brayden Bozovich; two sisters, Carolyn Kokoska of Arizona and Barbara Jean Falappi of Monongahela; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two brothers, Joseph and Paul Jurovcik; and a sister, Mildred Fragello.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ave Maria Parish Bentleyville, with the Rev. Edward Yuhas as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. The Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Hostess and cashier for Kings Restaurant

Charlotte R. Heffner, 65, of Strabane, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, in Consulate of North Strabane.

She was born January 3, 1948, a daughter of the late Raymond and Louise Meretski Piwinski.

Mrs. Heffner was a graduate of Bedford High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

She lived in the Canonsburg area since 1995 and, in addition to being a homemaker, she was employed as a hostess and cashier for Kings Restaurant in North Strabane Township.

On December 29, 1969, she married Andrew H. Heffner, who passed away January 17, 2000.

Surviving are three sons, Davis L. Heffner of Washington, Raymond A. Heffner and Robert Brian (Angela) Heffner, both of Canonsburg; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn N. and Meghan Heffner; three sisters, Kathy of Michigan, Chris of Arizona and Sharon of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services.

Warren W. Johnson, 93, of Washington, died Saturday, December 21, 2013.

Finleyville resident always willing to help

Joseph F. Judeikis III, 37, of Finleyville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 21, 2013.

He was the beloved son of Joseph F. Jr and Marylee Judeikis; loving brother of Jennifer (Nathan) DeVine; uncle of Connor and Elsie DeVine; nephew of Janet (Norman) Armondino, Cathy (Richard) Diadamo and Louise Judeikis; and extended family and friends.

He is also survived by his faithful four-legged companion, Blue.

Mr. Judeikis was a field service tech/installer for Tri-State Lockers.

His hobby was being an extraordinary motorcycle mechanic.

Mr. Judeikis had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Paul L. Henney Memorial Chapel, Bethel Park. Rices Landing resident enjoyed sewing, politics

Gloria L. Novotny, 67, of Rices Landing, died Saturday, December 21, 2013, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Monongahela.

She was born April 16, 1946, in Glendale, Ariz.

Mrs. Novotny formerly worked as a real estate agent and at Kaufmann’s Department store.

She lived most of her life in the Clairton area and the last two years in Rices Landing.

Mrs. Novotny enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, cooking, crocheting, painting and politics.

On October 27, 1967, she married Lawrence C. Novotny, who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Michelle Basinger and her husband, Earnest, of Rices Landing, Anthony Novotny and his wife, Lisa, and Annette Arizmendi and her husband, Joseph, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren, James Basilone Jr. (Erica), Joshua Basilone (Cristen), Joseph Arizmendi, Aleczandri Arizmendi, Adrianna Arizmendi, Annette Luttrull (Dave), Michelle Marsh (Jamie), Maranda O’Neill (Sean); seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lydia Mallernee (Jerry) of San Antonio, Texas and Alice Garcia of Selma, Calif.; two brothers, Ralph Rascon (Isabelle) and Tony Barrazo, both of Fresco, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Worked for Waynesburg Restaurant

Lucretia Pester, 88, of Waynesburg, died Saturday, December 21, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born April 20, 1925, in Holbrook, a daughter of the late Jesse and Lydia Galloway Anderson.

She was married to James Pester, who died in 1977.

Mrs. Pester worked at Waynesburg Restaurant for 28 years. She was a lifetime resident of Waynesburg, where she was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Pester of Waynesburg, with whom she made her home; a son, James Pester Jr. of Waynesburg; four grandchildren, Patrick Kelley, Debbie Pester, Amy Smith and Ethan Smith; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Willis Anderson of North Carolina.

Deceased are a daughter, Diane Kelley; seven brothers, Orville, John, Ross, Perry, Henry, Allen and Elmer Anderson; and four sisters, Lucretia Poland, Mary Iams, Elizabeth Loucks and Fannie Anderson.

Beverly Demski Plute, 59, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 22, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.

Chesapeake, Va.

Gabrielle “Gabe” Ramirez, 52, of Chesapeake, Va., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 19, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

A daughter of Janice Stark Abbadini and Fernando Ramirez Jr., she was born March 6, 1961, in Charleroi.

Dedicating her life to caring for others, she was employed as a social worker for Sentara Healthcare in Chesapeake.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by brothers Fernando “Ando” Ramirez III and wife Posie and Myron Ramirez and wife Diane; nieces Brooke and Miranda; nephews Myron Jr. and Brandon; stepfather Fred Abbadini; and stepmother Nancy Ramirez.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Frances Stark, on December 15, 2013, and grandfather Myron “Butch” Stark July 23, 1983.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing.
