Shari Lynn Cox, 46, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, December 25, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born July 3, 1967, in Washington County, a daughter of the late Frank Mazzacco and Karen Hopper Macioszek. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, John Macioszek.
Mrs. Cox was a 1985 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School, a homemaker and previously worked as a certified nursing assistant at Washington County Health Center.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and friends and helping others. She was a member and trustee of Meadow Lands Sportsmen’s Association.
On October 19, 1989, she married Ralph J. Cox, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Naomi L. Cox (Brian Breese) of Plumsock, and Chelsea K. Cox (Kory Yocum) of Washington; a sister, Rhonda Giancola; and two grandchildren, Landon and Carson.
Deceased, in addition to her father, is an uncle, William “Bill” Hopper.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Monday, December 30, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial is private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
