St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church

Stephanie Zaken Teatino, 66, of Cecil Township, died Monday, December 23, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

She was born March 4, 1947, in Hendersonville, a daughter of Stephan and Julia Lazor Zaken.

Mrs. Teatino was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church in Canonsburg.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing and spending time with her favorite dogs, Benelli, Bailey and Riley.

On November 26, 1968, in Monongahela, she married Jack M. Teatino, who died February 3, 2012.

Surviving are a daughter, Thedra (Brian) Wagner of Canonsburg; a son, Jason (Courtney) Teatino of Canonsburg; two sisters, Valeria (Michael) Kelleher of Wilton, Maine, and Bernadette (George) Haley of Lawrence: a sister-in-law, Marlane Zaken of Washington; an aunt, Eva Vadasz of Mingo Junction, Ohio; an uncle, Metropolitan Theodosius Lazor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Deceased is a brother, Paul Terry Zaken.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg, where a Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 28, in St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
