Worked for R.G. Johnson and played adult softball
Stephen Michael Breese, 28, of Washington, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born March 31, 1985, in Washington, a son of Keith E. Breese of Washington and Brenda McCutcheon Miller of Washington.
Mr. Breese was a 2003 graduate of McGuffey High School and attended West Virginia University. During high school, he lettered in football, baseball and wrestling.
Mr. Breese played adult softball every summer and was an avid sports fan.
He worked in mineshaft construction for R.G. Johnson for over six years.
On October 2, 2011, he married Katherine “Katie” Schall, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Addison Rae Breese, at home; two brothers, Phillip Breese (Sandy) of Houston and Brian Breese (Naomi) of Washington; a sister, Michelle Savage (Jeff) of Washington; two stepbrothers, Seth Allum (Michelle) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Zachary Allum of Washington; a stepsister, Samantha Allum of Washington; an aunt, Lorena (Tom) Pattison; cousins Ryan, Brittany and Marissa; stepmother Lori Allum; stepfather William Miller; nieces and nephews Abbie Breese, Landon Breese, Camren and Emily Savage and Ethan and Madeline Roman; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Juanita V. McCutcheon, and paternal grandparents, E. Homer Breese and Emmajo Breese, all of Claysville.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 2, with Jill Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.

Mildred I. Marcolini, 84, of Brownsville, (Low Hill), died Saturday, December 28, 2013, in her home.

Cynthia Lou McWhorter, 50, of Washington, died unexpectedly, Saturday, December 28, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.

RCA retiree enjoyed reading the Bible
Melba J. Powers, 88, of Houston, died Saturday, December 28, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
She was born May 14, 1925, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Lester and Eunice Thomas Chivers.
Mrs. Powers had worked for over 20 years for RCA in Canonsburg and Meadow Lands, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Central Assembly of God in Houston and Washington Presbyterian Church where she had taught Sunday school in both churches.
Mrs. Powers was an avid Bible reader.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Powers.
Surviving are a daughter, Paula McPeake of Florence, Ky.; two grandchildren, Robert McPeake of Florence and Cyndi Nieto of Los Angeles, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan McPeake and Antonio and Christian Nieto.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Monday, December 30, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. 32nd Degree Mason
Brent A. Ross, 52, of Moundsville, W.Va. passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013.
He was born June 23, 1961, in Waynesburg, a son of Larry and Ella “Bobbie” Berdine Ross.
He was employed as a operator engineers and by J. Wood Pipeline.
Mr. Ross was a member of Locals 667, 630 and 132. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge 153 AF&AM and 32nd Degree Mason.
Surviving are his father, Lanny Ross of Aleppo and wife Deborah Strong Ross of Moundsville; a son, Jonathan Ross and fiancée Devon of Cameron, W.Va.; a stepson, Zack Smith, and a stepdaughter, Tinya Snodgrass, both of Moundsville; three brothers, Donnie (Taishea) Ross, Brian (Penny) Ross and Steven (Brandy) Ross, all of Aleppo; an expected grandaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his mother.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1109 2nd Street, Moundsville, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 30, with burial in Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo. Masonic Lodge 153 AF&AM will hold a Masonic service.
Retired teller of First National Bank, Waynesburg
Judith K. Shultz, 76, of Waynesburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, December 27, 2013, in her home.
She was born April 5, 1937, in Masontown, a daughter of the late Frederick J. and Audrey Durschlag Kridle.
On January 1, 1955, she married Donald W. Shultz, who died February 15, 2001.
Mrs. Shultz was a retired teller in the Waynesburg branch of First National Bank of Pennsylvania.
She resided most of her life in Waynesburg.
Mrs. Shultz attended First Assembly of God at East View.
She enjoyed quiet time with her family and pets.
Surviving are a son, Vincent Shultz (Sue) of Waynesburg; two daughters, Audrey Dorman (Peter) of Forest, Va., and Cathy L. Whitmer (Jamie) of Waynesburg; nine grandchildren, Rachael, Valerie and Caroline Shultz, Evan, Zoey and Tate Dorman, Dylan Kirby and Jessica and Emily Whitmer; two great-grandchildren, Kimberly Rishell and Noah Kirby; and two sisters, Janet K. Alexander of Waynesburg and Roberta Petrocci of Prescott, Ariz.
Deceased is a brother, Frederick Kridle Jr.

Skilled mechanic
Frank Truntich Jr., 88, of McClellandtown, passed away Monday, December 23, 2013, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born September 23, 1925, in Washington County, a son of the late Frank and Katarina Siva Truntich.
Having lost his hearing at age 13, he attended DePaul Institute in Pittsburgh, from which he graduated with an outstanding education received from the nuns who taught there. He later became a skilled mechanic and repairman on elevators and other motors.
Surviving are four sisters, Anna Dloniak of Cleveland, Ohio, Albina Olson, who oversaw his care for many years, and Margaret Truntich, both of Waynesburg and Donna O’Connell of Morgantown, W.Va.; a brother, Paul Truntich of Crofton, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews and their families.
Deceased are two sisters, Kathleen Kelly and Amelia Truntich, and a brother, George.

Mental health counselor for Centerville Clinic
Larry E. Wainwright Jr., 71, of Rices Landing, died Friday, December 27, 2013, in his home.
He was born November 9, 1942, in California, a son of the late Lawrence E. and Verna M. Fulmer Wainwright Sr.
Mr. Wainwright was a retired mental health counselor for Centerville Clinic, Waynesburg.
He was a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church in Rices Landing and the F&AM Masonic Lodge 237 Beallsville.
Mr. Wainwright enjoyed reading, fishing, camping and watching sports.
On March 29, 1972, he married Virginia Ann Fisher, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Amy Ankrom and her husband Bill of Rices Landing and Christy L. Somerville and her husband Bryan of Waynesburg; two stepchildren, Jeffrey L. Schuster and his partner Kevin of Pataskala, Ohio, and Janette M. Kline and her husband Bradley of Rices Landing; 11 grandchildren, Abigail Ankrom, Sarah Ankrom, Lilly Somerville, Savanna Somerville, Gary Schuster, Steven Schuster, June Schuster, Mack Kline, Katie Kline, Erin Kline and Julianna Kline; and a brother, Paul David Wainwright and his wife Ruth of Beallsville.
Deceased is a brother, Dennis Ray Wainwright.

Ruth I. Whipkey Wright, 88, of Brownsville, died Saturday, December 28, 2013, with her loving family by her side.
She was born June 25, 1925, in Cameron, W.Va., a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Redd Whipkey.
She was a member of United Christian Church of California.
Preceading her in death are her husband, Robert E. Wright; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Wright; sisters Dorothy Nelson, Sarah Santee, Ann Burns and Wilma Jean Ross; and brothers, Carl Whipkey and Walter Whipkey Jr.
Surviving are four children, Robert Wright and wife Denise, Joseph Wright, Thomas Wright and wife Sharon and Marsha Wright; grandchildren Emily and husband Stewart, Megan and husband A.J., Erin and husband Jason, Cory and husband Scott, Jenna and husband Jon, Jessica, Jilian, David, Ben and Angela; great-grandchildren Cassidy, Emily, Wyatt, Andrew and Rachal; and numerous nieces and nephews.
