Twila I. Martin

Twila I. Martin, 82, of Houston, died Friday, February 1, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

She was born November 5, 1930, in Westland, a daughter of Harry and Alwilda Shober Atchison.

Mrs. Martin was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Washington and was a Sunday school teacher.

She was a 1948 graduate of Hickory High School.

Mrs. Martin had worked at the former Pine Lawn Home in Houston, Washington Hospital and KFC in Canonsburg.

She was a member of TOPS of Chartiers Township and Canonsburg Senior Center.

Mrs. Martin enjoyed crocheting and making afghans.

On February 5, 1949, she married Walter M. “Bud” Martin, who died February 3, 1995.

Surviving are two sons, William Martin (Eleanor) of Houston and Al “Pudgy” Martin (Michelle) of Washington; two grandchildren, Nicole Kazmarski (Michael) and Jason Martin; a great-grandson, Liam Kazmarski; two sisters, Nada Schwab (Warren) of McDonald and Rozella Beegle of Meadow Lands; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sisters, Ivadean Mays, Marcella Frankovitch and Ruth Abruzzi.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, with the Rev. Martin Bausman officiating.
