Marian F. Garrone
Marian F. Garrone, 92, of Canonsburg, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born December 13, 1920, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Sedora Franko.
Mrs. Garrone lived her entire life in Canonsburg, where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers and Guild.
She was a 1938 graduate of Canonsburg High School. She was a gifted singer in the big band era and a talented seamstress.
A homemaker, Mrs. Garrone had been employed in various secretarial positions through the years.
She was a member of the Washington County Chapter Secretaries Association.
On September 30, 1944, she married Albert F. Garrone, who died July 12, 2003.
Surviving are two daughters, Gail (David) Binotto of Washington and Janice M. Garrone of Mt. Lebanon; a son, Dennis (Charlotte) Garrone of White Lake, Mich.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Garrone was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two brothers, Albert and Andrew Franko, and three sisters, Helen Tomecsko, Margaret (Margo) Fetcko and Alice Franko.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, February 7, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. The Christian Mothers and Guild will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
