Ernest William Tsekas, 57, of Joffre, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
He was born December 31, 1955, a son of the late Ernest A. and Leah Argenta Tsekas.
A 1974 graduate of Union High School, Burgettstown, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 until being honorably discharged in 1979.
He was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Wexford.
Mr. Tsekas was a kind-hearted soul who loved animals.
He was a member of Atlasburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6490.
Surviving, in addition to his many friends, are 11 cousins.
A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 8, in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. Interment with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Navy and Slovan/Burgettstown Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Honor Guard will follow at 11 a.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
