Donald A. Fordyce, 80, of New Freeport, died Saturday, February 9, 2013, in his home.
He was born February 28, 1932, near Littleton, W.Va., a son of the late Aubrey and Emma Stout Fordyce.
Mr. Fordyce was a lifelong member of Church of Christ and served as an elder in Ravenna, Ohio, Irving, Texas, and New Freeport.
He was a 1949 graduate of Hundred (W.Va.) High School and Elliott School of Business in Wheeling, W.Va.
Mr. Fordyce was retired from G.S. Roofing Products Co. in Irving.
In addition to his parents, deceased are his wife of 53 years, Jane M. West Fordyce, who died December 4, 2009, and great-granddaughter Kacee Lee Kibler, on January 8, 2012.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Rick Taylor of Garland, Texas, and Sharon and Mark Been of New Freeport; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Nancy Fordyce of New Freeport and Jon Fordyce of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren, Aimee, Nathan and Ashley Jones, Erica, Hannah and Mark Fordyce and Audrey McDonald; three great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Sherrell and Becky Fordyce of Roopville, Ga., Ervin and Kay Fordyce and Thomas and Kathy Fordyce, both of New Freeport, and John and Donita Fordyce of Mannington, W.Va.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in Hutson Funeral Home, 500 East Main Street, Mannington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, with evangelist Mike Phillips officiating.
