Marie Spataro Fisher Manzo
Marie “Dondo” Spataro Fisher Manzo, 75, of Avella, died while surrounded by family at 11:15 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
She was born January 16, 1938, in Avella, a daughter of the late Steve and Mary Lazzaro Spataro.
Mrs. Manzo was a 1957 graduate of Avella High School and was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church.
She had worked at her family’s market “Spataro’s” in Avella and also for Harry M. Stevens Food Service.
Mrs. Manzo enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Lucy.
On November 24, 1960, she married James B. Fisher, who died January 14, 1993.
On June 22, 1996, she married Samuel Manzo, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, James L. (Karen) Fisher of Springboro, Ohio; a daughter, Jamey L. (Edward) Kelly of Avella; a stepdaughter, Rosanne (Aldo) Colalillo of Moon Township; six grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew Wander, Ella Kelly, Heather, Jacob and Luke Fisher; three stepgrandchildren, Samantha, Christina and Marco Colalillo; four great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Antonio, Mario and Addison; a sister, Josephine (Robert) Wilson of Atlasburg; a brother, Steve (Pauline) Spataro Jr. of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her first husband and parents, are three brothers, Guiseppe, Anthony and Joseph Spataro; two sisters, Stella Spataro and Mary Shortino.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 95 Highland Avenue, Avella, with the Rev. Robert M. Staszewski officiating.
