Paul J. Satterfield

Paul J. Satterfield, 68, of Washington, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, in Southwestern Veterans Center, Pittsburgh.

He was born August 9, 1944, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Postgate Satterfield.

Mr. Satterfield was a graduate of Penn Hills High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, serving from 1962 to 1967.

He worked for the National Elevator Industry, with Westinghouse/Schindler Elevator, for more than 20 years, retiring in 1987.

Mr. Satterfield was a member of Broad Street Baptist Church and a life member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.

He was interested in trains and, at one time, had an interest in building clocks.

On February 14, 1983, he married Sharon J. Allen, who survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Todd and Scott Kolross, both of Green Bay, Wis., Kevin and Matthew Satterfield, both of Pittsburgh, Paul John (Sheearla) Satterfield Jr. of Washington; a daughter, Paula (David) Noble of Washington; four stepsons, Jeffrey Yeager and Michael (Paula) Yeager, both of Washington, Charles (Darla) Yeager of Cecil Township and Matthew Yeager of Weirton, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Melinda (Ronnie) Kelley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, James (Jeanne) Satterfield of Pittsburgh and Warren (Cathy) Satterfield of Leigh High Acres, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, Megan, Christa, and Jennifer Kelley, Erica Kersey, Jeffrey, Mauriah, Joshua, and Brittany Yeager, Nicolas, Amanda, and Christopher Yeager, Alexander and Zachary Noble, Shamari, Aniya, Samiyah, and Julien Satterfield; three great-grandsons, Lincoln Paxton, James Hoitt and Liam Reddy; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a stepson, Chris Yeager.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
