Helen DeVitis, 93, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, in Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
She was born October 22, 1919, in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Michael and Francis Novich.
Prior to her retirement, she owned and operated a beauty shop in Canonsburg.
Surviving are two sons, Darwin DeVitis Sr. of Eighty Four and Charles DeVitis and wife Val of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and their families; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, deceased are her husband, Salvador DeVitis; two sisters, Mildred Paris and Ethel “Babe” Supinsky; former companion Stanley “Toby” Skowvron; and daughter-in-law Donna DeVitis.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director. Departing prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Canonsburg.
