Marian B. Kanotz

Marian B. Kanotz, 96, of Lewisville, Texas, formerly of Houston and Canonsburg, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, in Presbyterian Hospital, Plano, Texas.

She was born February 4, 1917, in Cecil, a daughter of Albert and Edna Hackenson Prideau.

Mrs. Kanotz was a 1935 graduate of Canonsburg High School.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Canonsburg.

Mrs. Kanotz had been employed at the former Brockway Glass in Washington.

She loved her family and was an avid reader, sometimes finishing as many as 10 books in a week.

Her husband, Samuel Kanotz, died August 22, 1999.

Surviving are a granddaughter, Kelsey Nee of Pittsburgh, nephews and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Susan Gail Nee and husband Daniel; three sisters, Viola Dickey, Elizabeth Sapp and Lillian Hatala; and a brother, Harry Prideau.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, with Pastor Bill Barnett officiating. Interment will be private.
