Brian D. Horvath

Brian D. Horvath, 54, of Houston, died Monday, February 18, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born October 5, 1958, in Washington, a son of Carl F. and Mary Jane Rederick Horvath.

Mr. Horvath was a 1976 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.

He was a certified welder and member of United Steel Workers.

Mr. Horvath retired form US Airways and was recently employed by Caterpillar in Houston.

He was a loyal fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams as well as the Seattle Seahawks.

Mr. Horvath was a member of SNPJ in Strabane and other social clubs.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at his family camp in Eagle Rock.

Surviving are two sisters, Diane Kolovich (Marty) of Houston and Janice Kobert (Robert) of Canonsburg; two brothers, James Horvath (Debra) and Steven Horvath (Carrie), both of Chartiers Township; nieces and nephews Martin (Holly), Michael (Bronwyn) and Matthew (Misti) Kolovich, Alex and Andy Kobert, James Jr. (Michele) and Steven and Ashley Horvath; great-nieces and nephews Julie, Taylor, Ava and Noah Kolovich and James Horvath III; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A brother, Carl F. Horvath Jr., is deceased.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 22, with the Rev. Steven Parkhill officiating. Interment will be private.
