Ilene E. Chambers Jochynek Hartley

Ilene E. Chambers Jochynek Hartley, 87, of Washington, died Saturday, February 23, 2013, in her home.

She was born August 18, 1925, in Washington, a daughter of the late Francis D. and Leona Camp Chambers.

Mrs. Hartley was a member of West Washington United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and past president of its Bertha Stimmel Circle.

She was a homemaker as well as an artist. She enjoyed painting with oil and acrylic paints and taught painting at the Senior Citizens Center. She also built dollhouses and mini trains for many years.

On May 24, 1957, she married Willard W. Hartley, who died October 3, 2009.

Surviving are a son, David P. (Beverly) Jochynek of Claysville; three daughters, Judith E. LeMaster of Joffre, Barbara (James) Richardson of Washington and Mary Ellen “Missy” (Gary) Six of Claysville; a stepson, Willard “Lock” Hartley II of Washington; a stepdaughter, Connie (Jerry) Vonscio of Washington; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased are her first husband, Joseph P. Jochynek; an infant son, Robert Lee Jochynek; two grandchildren, Mary E. Baumgardner and Becky Richardson; two great-grandchildren, Dougie Baumgardner and Kelsie Ilene Hritz; two brothers, Frank and Art Chambers; and two sisters, Bonnie Dolan and Catherine Voytek.
