Joseph Leone Duche

Joseph Leone Duche, 74, of North Charleroi, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, in his home, after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 13, 1938, in Brownsville, a son of the late Joseph Duche and Mary Turice and John Schoka.

Mr. Duche was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport.

He served in the U.S. Marines from 1956 to 1958.

Mr. Duche was a Golden Gloves Champion in his early years. After his boxing days were done, he remained on the boxing scene, training many young boxers.

Surviving are his wife, Janet Post Duche; sons Joseph (Kim) Duche of North Charleroi and Jon M. Duche of Johnstown; daughter Jennifer (Chris) Jones of Monongahela; sisters Rose (Robert) Vercamen of North Charleroi and Mary Ann (Dennis) Kostolansky of Charleroi; grandchildren Kiley and Kelsey Jones, Ashley, Amanda and Michael Kope, and Gabrielle Duche; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, deceased is his twin brother, Dominick Duche.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home, 819 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi. A blessing will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 28, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Condolences may be sent to www.spallinofuneralhome.com.
