Gery Jakub Jr.
Gery Jakub Jr., 34, of New Eagle, died Thursday, February 28, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born September 20, 1978, in Pittsburgh, a son of Gery and Virginia Donaldson Jakub of Eighty Four, Nottingham Township.
Mr. Jakub was employed as an electrical engineer with Heyl & Patterson Inc. in Robinson Township and also worked in the games department at Kennywood Park in West Mifflin.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville, Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity and a life member of Valley Inn Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Heather Twining Jakub; a daughter, Sarah; two sisters, Megan Jakub and husband Ryan Ludwin of Canonsburg and Katherine Jakub of Eighty Four; paternal grandparents Michael and Genevieve Jakub of Duquesne; a niece, Kendall; and a nephew, Tyler.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville, with the Rev. Robert J. Boyle as celebrant. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Inn Volunteer Fire Department, 810 Dry Run Road, Monongahela, PA 15063.
