Robert Joseph Boswell Jr.
Robert Joseph Boswell Jr., 85, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in Lancaster General Hospital.
He was born in Washington, a son of the late Robert Joseph Sr. and Ruth Boone Boswell.
Mr. Boswell was the husband of the late Ruth May Nystrom Boswell.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Boswell graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Washington & Jefferson College.
He taught classes at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point College. He was a terminal manager for Suawk Co. in Washington for 14 years and a terminal manager for 20 years at Motor Freight Express, where he retired. He also worked as a manager at Firestone Complete Auto Care.
Mr. Boswell was a member of the Rotary Club since 1962 and was a Mason.
He loved Dixieland music, playing cards and being with his friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Hershey of Ephrata and Barbara Brunner, wife of Ray G. Brunner, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother, James Boswell of Greensburg; a sister, Margaret Hutchison of Washington; and his longtime friend and companion, Jane Heavner.
Mr. Boswell will be missed by his granddog, Isabella.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Washington Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
