Rose Rubis Pogoreltz, 91, of Niles, Ohio, formerly of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in Niles.

She was born October 9, 1921, in East Brady, a daughter of Angelo and Bertha Oliver Rubis.

Mrs. Pogoreltz was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Church.

She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo and traveling.

Surviving are a son, Louis H. Pogoreltz (Kathleen) of Washington; a daughter, Linda L. Snedeker (Robert) of Niles; a brother, Rudy Rubis of Canonsburg; a sister, Blanche McNurlen of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Louis J. Pogoreltz (Renee), Jody Mullen and Robert Snedeker (Carrie); five great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Rosie, Sophia, Eleanor and Christopher Snedeker; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Louis E. Pogoreltz; two brothers, Misdeo and Victor Rubis; and four sisters, Minnie Toffolo, Jenny Coleman, Constance Thomas and Juklia Bushmire.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, with the Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
