Betty “BA” Anthony, 78, of Monongahela, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.

She was born January 13, 1934, in Monongahela, a daughter of the late John and Helen Hazuda Fedak.

Mrs. Anthony was a 1951 graduate of Monongahela High School.

She was an operator at Bell Telephone and also worked at the former A&S Supermarket in Monongahela.

Mrs. Anthony was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Monongahela and Hoot Owl Athletic Association Ladies Auxiliary in New Eagle.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up. She enjoyed running away to The Meadows and was well known by many for making the best ever ravioli for her family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Rippel and husband Wesley, and a son, Robert M. Anthony and wife Diane, both of New Eagle; a daughter, Marsha Bartman and husband Richard of Bentleyville; seven grandchildren, Carrie Wiles and husband Dwight, Bryan Rippel, Ricky and Kellie Bartman, and Fawn, Jerrod and Elizabeth Anthony; two great-grandchildren, Shane and Emily Wiles; and two nephews, Harry Turic and Mike Fedak.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Robert Allen Anthony, who died December 22, 2005; a son, Joseph E. Anthony, who died November 3, 2010; a sister, Mary Turic; and two brothers, Michael and John Jr. Fedak.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, followed by a service at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Monongahela, with the Very Rev. Edward Pehanich officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. A Panachida service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
