Eugenia Manganas
Eugenia “Jean” Manganas of Canonsburg died Tuesday, January 22, 2013, surrounded by her beloved family.
She was the beloved wife of Nick Manganas; loving mother of John (Rita) Manganas, Chris (John) Liokareas, Andrew (Amy) Manganas, Irene (James Lieb) Lang, Angela (Panteli) Athanas and the late Thomas (Toni) Manganas; daughter of the late Irene Lignos and Andrew Kalafatis; adored sister of Robert (Rita) Kalafatis and Nick (Dinah) Kalafatis; proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Manganas cherished most being surrounded by her loving family and was loved and adored by all who knew her. She touched the lives of many people with her kindness, gentleness, giving heart and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan; watching the games was a family event.
Mrs. Manganas was a member of Holy Cross Philoptochos Society and Daughters of Penelope.
Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Beinahuer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, 724-941-3211. Additional viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Friday, January 25, in Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 123 Gilkeson Road, Mt. Lebanon, PA 15228. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray. Trisagion service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
