Vera Jean Isabel Ferralli Piacenza, 97, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, in her home.
She was born October 26, 1915, in Bruceton, a daughter of John and Mary Chiarelli Ferralli.
Mrs. Piacenza was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Washington and a former member of St. Hilary Church.
She was a 1934 graduate of Trinity High School and was formerly employed in the dietary department at Washington Hospital.
On November 16, 1946, she married Bartolemo Piacenza, an Army Corps veteran of World War II, who passed away November 6, 1979.
As a loving and caring lady, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Surviving are a son, Barry John Piacenza of Washington; a sister, Jennie Marie Ferralli of Washington; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are four brothers, Albert, John, Joseph and Dominic Ferralli, and three sisters, Rose F. Rugierio, Angeline F. Costello and Helen F. Bellotti.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 2, in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
